New to VPNs? Start with these steps: sign in to your dashboard, get the client for your device, import your subscription using the guide, then choose a route and verify access. Make sure your everyday apps work first; you can fine-tune split tunneling and auto-connect later. There’s no need to learn every protocol and advanced setting right away.

1. Getting started: where do I begin?

Bottom line: Set up your account and client, get your subscription, then connect and test it. JiuVPN requires no email address; you can get started with a username and password. The client is the connection app on your device, while the subscription provides it with available nodes and configuration. Installing the app alone does not give it route details.

  1. Open your user dashboard, save your username and password, and check your plan and data usage.
  2. Get the client for your platform from the client download page, then read the setup instructions for that platform.
  3. Sign in to get your subscription, import the configuration using a method supported by your client, and check that the node list appears.
  4. Choose a node and connect. Open a website or app you use regularly and check that pages load, sign-in works, and files transfer as expected.

If your system asks to allow a VPN connection or change network settings for the first time, make sure the request is from the client you just installed, then follow the guide. Don’t delete existing network settings or turn off all security features just to clear an error. For detailed steps, see the platform guides.

2. Do the same setup steps work on every platform?

Bottom line: The general process is similar, but clients, permissions, and import options can vary. JiuVPN supports Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux. You can download the client for Windows, Android, macOS, and Linux after signing in; the iOS link requires an active plan. You also need to sign in to get your subscription.

Desktop clients may offer different traffic-routing options, such as system proxy and TUN. A system proxy usually affects only apps that follow the system proxy settings. TUN routes traffic through a virtual network interface, but behavior still depends on the client, permissions, and routing rules. Mobile clients often use the system VPN interface, but a “VPN” indicator alone doesn’t prove that every app uses the same route.

Don’t guess which buttons to tap based on screenshots from another platform. If you can’t find the import option, can’t grant permissions, or the connection drops in the background, check the guide for your platform, the client version, and your system’s background and battery settings.

3. Can you connect multiple devices at once?

Bottom line: JiuVPN has no device limit, but devices on the same plan share its data allowance. You can set up the client on different devices using the instructions for each one; switching computers doesn’t mean you need a different plan. No device limit does not mean each device gets a separate data allowance.

If your computer is syncing files while another device streams video, both use data from your plan. Multiple people or devices also share your local network capacity. If your home upload bandwidth is congested, a choppy call may not be caused by the node.

Don’t share subscription links or account credentials publicly. If a device is lost or a subscription link is exposed, check your dashboard for a reset option and contact support if needed. Removing the client from one device does not invalidate a subscription link that has already been exposed.

4. How is data usage calculated, and when does it reset?

Bottom line: Check whether you have a monthly plan or a data package, then review your dashboard. Monthly plan data resets each month on the date you activated the plan; don’t assume it resets on the first of the calendar month. Data packages don’t expire, making them useful when your usage varies. No expiration refers to the validity of the data, not unlimited usage.

JiuVPN monthly plans: Choose by data usage
Monthly price Monthly data Reset schedule
¥9.9 / month 60GB / month Resets monthly on activation date
¥18 / month 250GB / month Resets monthly on activation date
¥28 / month 500GB / month Resets monthly on activation date

Video quality, cloud sync, app updates, and file uploads all affect data usage. Don’t estimate usage just by counting open web pages, or assume a download’s file size matches the amount deducted from your dashboard. Measurement methods, uploads, and protocol overhead can all contribute to differences. Refer to your dashboard and plan details for usage tracking and remaining data.

When you’re getting started, check how your remaining data changes during everyday use before deciding whether to change plans. See the plans page for full prices and rules by plan type. Don’t assume that no device limit means unlimited data.

5. Does a slow connection mean my speed is being limited?

Bottom line: One slow download isn’t enough to conclude that your service is being throttled. Wi-Fi signal, your ISP’s routing, congestion at the exit, the destination website’s response, and your device’s performance can all affect speeds. This guide makes no claims about unlisted speed limits and does not present fabricated speed-test results.

Pause large file syncs first, then compare performance before and after connecting on the same network and with the same destination. Try another node as well. If only one website is slow, the issue may be with that site or the route from the exit to it. If every app is slow, check your local network first, then the route.

IEPL dedicated lines, relayed routes, and direct connections describe different routing setups, not fixed speed tiers. A dedicated line may carry part of the route; a relay forwards traffic through an intermediate server, while a direct connection skips that relay entry point. Actual performance still depends on the full route. Node names and region labels can help you narrow down your choices, but only a real connection test can tell you how it works for you.

6. Does the VPN need to stay on? Will it affect regular websites?

Bottom line: You don’t need to stay connected to keep your plan active. Choose based on how you use it. Disconnecting the client usually just stops traffic from using that connection; it doesn’t pause your monthly plan. Connect when you need access to specific resources and disconnect when you don’t. If you want everyday apps to choose routes automatically, use rule mode after confirming your configuration is correct.

Rule mode decides whether traffic connects directly or uses a proxy based on conditions such as domain, destination address, or app. The available rules depend on the client. Global mode usually sends traffic handled by the client through the selected proxy, but that doesn’t mean every connection on the device is necessarily routed through it. Local network traffic, system services, and apps that ignore the system proxy may take a different route.

If regular websites slow down, a local network printer becomes unreachable, or a work system won’t sign in, check whether global mode is on by mistake or a direct-connection rule is missing. On company devices, follow your organization’s network policies; don’t override routes or proxy settings required for work.

7. How do I import a subscription link, and why might it fail?

Bottom line: Import a subscription link through a compatible client’s subscription option; it isn’t a regular webpage. Common options include “Add subscription,” “Import from link,” and “Import configuration.” Some clients open the import screen automatically, while others require you to paste the link manually. Follow the guide for your platform.

If the import fails, first check that you copied the full link without extra spaces, line breaks, or missing characters. Then check whether your client supports the subscription format and node protocol. Shadowsocks, VMess, Trojan, VLESS, Hysteria2, and TUIC are not interchangeable names. Client support and complete configuration fields can affect import and connection. These protocols are listed to explain compatibility; this does not mean JiuVPN offers all of them.

Treat your subscription link like a credential

A link may contain an access token. Don’t post it on public forums, online conversion sites, or in chats with strangers. When sharing a screenshot with support, hide the full link, token, and account details.

If the node list is empty, check your plan status and try updating the subscription. If nodes appear but won’t connect, troubleshoot your network, protocol support, and node availability instead of repeatedly importing the same link.

8. Does connecting protect all my privacy?

Bottom line: A connection changes the route for some network traffic; it doesn’t erase every clue to your identity. Websites may still identify you through your account, cookies, or browser fingerprint. HTTPS matters too; it addresses different risks than a proxy connection.

DNS translates domain names into addresses. If domain lookups take a different route than expected, this may create a DNS leak risk or inconsistent results. When troubleshooting, check the client’s DNS settings, your browser’s encrypted DNS option, and system configuration. A change in your exit address alone doesn’t prove that DNS traffic follows the expected route.

On public Wi-Fi, make sure you’re connecting to a trusted network, treat certificate warnings with caution, and keep your system and client up to date. When reviewing a service’s privacy policy, look at what data it collects, why it retains it, and how it handles it. Don’t treat a single privacy statement as a security guarantee for every situation.

9. Connected, but websites won’t load. What should I do?

Bottom line: Troubleshoot in this order: local network, plan and configuration, node, then app. A “connected” status may only mean the client has started the connection; it doesn’t prove that a particular website is reachable. Change one thing at a time so you can tell what makes a difference.

  • ✅ Disconnect the client temporarily and check that your local network can reach websites that normally work without it.
  • ✅ Check your plan, data, and subscription status in the dashboard, and make sure the client has updated its configuration.
  • ✅ Check that your system clock is correct and network permissions are granted. Make sure no other proxy tool is routing the connection at the same time.
  • ✅ Try another node with the same destination, then test other apps to tell whether the issue is with the node or the app.
  • ✅ If your browser works but one app doesn’t, check whether the app follows the system proxy and whether the rules match.
  • ✅ If the problem persists, note the error message, platform, and client version. Hide your subscription credentials before contacting support.

Don’t reinstall your operating system, clear all network settings, or switch to an untrusted client whenever something goes wrong. Specific error messages are more useful than “it doesn’t work”: a failed subscription update, DNS lookup failure, and connection handshake failure each point to different troubleshooting steps.

10. How can I tell if it’s right for me, and how do refunds work?

Bottom line: Decide based on your real use cases. JiuVPN offers a 7-day no-questions-asked refund. Review the plan details before paying. Once connected, test the apps, networks, and devices you use regularly rather than relying on the client’s connection status alone.

Check whether documents open, calls run smoothly, file transfers stay stable, and direct-connection apps still work as expected. Exit regions may also affect website sign-in checks and location detection, so being able to open a site’s home page on one node doesn’t mean every feature will work.

To request a refund, use the support ticket page in your dashboard and include the relevant order details and request. See the site terms for the applicable rules. Payment methods include Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT. Don’t infer refund processing times or additional conditions from the payment method.

VPN basics: key takeaways

Set up the client and subscription, then verify your connection before adjusting routing for your everyday apps. Remember: no device limit doesn’t mean unlimited data; connected doesn’t mean every app uses the proxy; and fluctuating speeds don’t necessarily mean throttling. Troubleshoot step by step to find the cause instead of repeatedly changing settings.
